Our relationship with each patient begins with the first appointment

When you schedule an appointment to see one of our neurosurgeons, you will get to see that neurosurgeon – not a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician’s Assistant (PA) as is the case with many neurosurgical practices.

Of course, we take great pride in knowing that our expertly-trained NPs and PAs are unsurpassed in their field. And we know that our patients find them to be invaluable members of their healthcare team.

But they are not neurosurgeons.

All to say that the DNS philosophy begins with our commitment to build and honor the doctor-patient relationship – by listening, asking questions and then listening some more – with each and every appointment.

We follow a conservative treatment philosophy. Our goal is to perform the least invasive, most effective procedure available, specifically tailored for each patient.

We routinely recommend that surgical options be considered only after all non-operative treatments have been exhausted. In fact, we believe avoiding surgery is, in many cases, the smartest path to achieving the most successful result. We recommend surgical treatment only when, based on our years of experience in treating patients with similar conditions, the likely benefits will dramatically improve the patient’s quality of life.

We take enormous pride in every detail of what we do, with the goal of providing the highest level of care to every patient.
