About

Dr. Suraj Sulhan, MD

Fellowship-Trained Neurosurgeon in Plano, Texas

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Suraj Sulhan trained as a classical musician, studying bass trombone at The Juilliard School before completing his undergraduate degree in Music Performance at Southern Methodist University. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Texas A&M College of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class and earning induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a junior member.

Dr. Sulhan completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at Houston Methodist, where he also served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship at Houston Methodist with focused training in endoscopic spine surgery and the management of complex degenerative spinal conditions — placing him among the first generation of neurosurgeons to receive formal, dedicated training in endoscopic techniques throughout the entirety of both residency and fellowship.

Dr. Sulhan is dedicated to ultra-minimally invasive spine care, with a particular focus on endoscopic spine surgery. His approach centers on identifying the least invasive option appropriate for each patient in order to maximize recovery, function, and long-term outcomes. In addition to his focus on endoscopic techniques, he treats the full spectrum of spinal pathology, from complex degenerative conditions and spinal tumors to other minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures, always tailoring treatment to the individual patient.

Dr. Sulhan is Board Eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, Texas Medical Association, and Dallas County Medical Association.

Dr. Sulhan is currently seeing patients in our Plano office.

He lives in the Dallas area with his wife. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, playing golf and basketball, and staying connected to his musical roots as a classical musician.
